Costumed Character at the 2015 White House Easter Egg Roll

This photograph of a costumed character on the South Grounds during the White House Easter Egg Roll was taken by Matthew D'Agostino for the White House Historical Association on April 6, 2015. This character is the "Red Autobird," a mashup of the character Red from the "Angry Birds" franchise and Optimus Prime from the "Transformers" franchise, which appeared in the 2014 mobile video game "Angry Birds Transformers." Other costumed characters that appeared at the event included protagonists Emmet and WyldStyle from "The LEGO Movie," "Minions" from the "Despicable Me" film franchise and the 2015 spin-off movie of the same name, and the Washington Nationals Racing Presidents. In 2015, the theme of the White House Easter Egg Roll was "#GimmeFive," which commemorated the fifth anniversary of First Lady Michelle Obama's "Let's Move!" campaign by challenging the public to incorporate five new healthy habits into their daily routine, and share their choices on social media. The event featured sports and fitness zones, cooking demonstrations, storytelling, appearances by costumed characters, musical performances, and classic seasonal activities such as the egg hunt and egg roll race.
